I love lace shawls. Unfortunately I'm a slow knitter and human shawls are a lot of work, but one for a 16"/42cm doll...
This is a combination of two patterns I adore, the Heirloom Lace shawl from Patons (free membership required), and Haruni (Ravelry link). I knit the first section of the Patons shawl mostly as written (I changed the selvedge) then adapted the second and third sections so they could flow into the edge treatment from Haruni.
